What is the principle of measuring Torpedo Spirit Level

Torpedo Spirit Level is a measurement tool widely used in fields such as architecture, decoration, woodworking, etc. Its compact and portable nature makes it particularly popular in the workplace. So, how does Torpedo Spirit Level achieve precise measurement?
The measurement principle of Torpedo Spirit Level is mainly based on the gravity effect and the stability of bubbles in physics. Inside the level, there is a precision bubble tube, which is its core measuring component. The bubble tube is filled with a special liquid and contains a small bubble. This bubble will remain at the center of the bubble tube when not subjected to external forces.
When using Torpedo Spirit Level for measurement, if it is placed on a completely horizontal surface, due to the effect of gravity, the bubble will remain at the center of the bubble tube, indicating that the surface is horizontal. If the surface is not horizontal, the bubbles will deviate from the center, indicating to us which direction needs to be adjusted to achieve a horizontal state.
So, why can bubbles indicate the level so accurately? This is due to the special design of the bubble tube and the physical properties of the liquid. The surface tension of the liquid inside the bubble tube keeps the bubbles in a stable shape when not subjected to external forces. Meanwhile, the two ends of the bubble tube are usually closed and slightly curved, which further enhances the stability of the bubble.
In addition to horizontal measurement, some Torpedo Spirit Levels also have the function of vertical measurement. This is usually achieved by adding additional markings or bubbles on the bubble tube. When we need to make vertical measurements, we just need to rotate the level by 90 degrees and observe the position of the bubble.
The measurement accuracy of Torpedo Spirit Level is affected by various factors. The manufacturing accuracy of bubble tubes, the selection of liquids, and the usage environment (such as temperature, humidity, etc.) are all key factors. When using, we need to ensure that the level is in suitable environmental conditions and undergo regular calibration and maintenance to ensure its measurement accuracy.
